
Sylvia Halkerston
Educated in Aberdeen, Sylvia has a career spanning 35 years in Human Resource Management. Most of her experience has been in the private sector with exposure to many industries – from Oil & Gas, Hospitality, Construction, Public Transport to Food & Drink, but she also has experience working in and with the public sector. Sylvia also had the privilege of training twice with the Walt Disney organisation in Florida.
At every stage of Sylvia’s career she has been involved with and committed to Education/Industry Links from a Management Training initiative for teachers through Enterprise Awareness for teachers to the successful Schools Industry Challenges.
Sylvia is Chair of the Scottish Food and Drink Skills Adacemy, a member of the SFC/SDS Joint Skills Committee, a council member of Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Development Board of The Saltire Foundation.
In 2012, Sylvia was nominated by key members of Aberdeen's HR and business communities as the winner of the Top cHeRry Award for Outstanding Contribution.
