Professor Rita Marcella FIMGt; FLA; Ph. D. ; Dip Lib; Dip Ed; MA (Hons) Dean of Faculty at Aberdeen Business School started at RGU as a Librarian and now leads a faculty of 4,000 students and 300 staff in 8 subject disciplinary departments.

Rita is also Chair of the University's External Relations Working Group , a member of the University's Executive/Deans Group with responsibility for the University's strategic planning, research, academic development, estates management, capital expenditure, internationalisation and corporate communication committees & groups. Rita is also a member of the University's working roup on corporate programme delivery. 

In addition to her commitments at The Robert Gordon University Ritaalso has many other external roles such as Chair of the Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC), Chair of Grampian Information, a member of the Grampian Racial Equality Council Board (GREC) and a member of the North East Scotland Tourism Partnership (NESTOUR) Committee.
