Peter Nicholson

Born in Aberdeen, Peter was educated at Robert Gordon’s College and Aberdeen College. After an early career in accountancy and banking, Peter joined the Oil & Gas in Financial and General Management until his appointment as Director of Human Resources for Baker Hughes INTEQ in 1993.

In 1997 Peter joined Smith International Inc and moved with his family to Houston, Texas where he served as an Officer and Vice President of Human Resources. Peter was Chair of the Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association, Human Resources Group and is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management.

In April 2002 Peter returned to Aberdeen and took up an appointment as Group Head of Human Resources for John Wood Group PLC.

Formerly Chair of Scottish Business in the Community in Grampian and a Scottish Board Director, Peter now serves as a Director on the Board of Cornerstone Community Care and as a Governor of the Robert Gordon University.

Married to wife Dawn for more than 30 years, Peter has three children and lives in Stonehaven
