Dean Hunter

Previously a police constable, Dean joined the HR profession in search of a new challenge and has enjoyed a meteoric rise to become PSN's Human Resources Director. In 2007 Dean and his team, were awarded the Scottish Offshore Achievement Award 2007 for ‘succeeding through people’ for creating a corporate culture that inspires the business leaders and technical champions of the future. In 2008 the team became one of the few oil and gas related companies to ever make the Times Top 100 best companies to work for. With an employee turnover rate of less than 1% per month, Dean and his team continue to strive to make PSN the place where the best people want to work.
Dean was the co-founder of the Employment Eye, a cross industry network of HR professionals established in 2007.
In May 2008, Dean was rewarded for his contribution to HR by receiving the Outstanding HR Director of the Year cHeRries Award, (sponsored by The Urquhart Partnership and Aberdeen Business School at The Robert Gordon University).
Dean holds a bachelors degree in Public Policy and Management and masters degree in Employment Law Practice from the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.
Dean sits on the Employment Practices Committee of the Offshore Contractors Association (OCA) – whose members employ 2/3 of people working in the UK offshore oil and gas industry. Dean also represents PSN as a corporate sponsor of the MSc Human Resource Management Course at The Robert Gordon University. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
