Host of The cHeRries Awards 2008
cushydoos were delighted to have STV's, North Tonight top anchorman Norman McLeod as special guest host of The cHeRries Awards 2008. We would like to thank Norman for supporting The cHeRries Awards in its inaugrual year and helping cushydoos set the bar so high!
Norman began his broadcasting career with BBC Radio in Stornoway in the 80s.
Following his studies he joined Grampian Television in Aberdeen as a trainee journalist.
After 20 years with Grampian TV, now STV, he's covered some of Scotland's biggest news events. In addition he's reported from around Europe and has presented with ITN in London, Channel 4 and the History Channel.
Norman is now the top rated North Tonight's main presenters and also narrates some of the station's Gaelic language programmes.
Highlights over the years include eating raw whale meat in the Faroe Islands with the national football team....to meeting and interviewing Latin mad-woman Margarita Pracatan amongst others. Who said TV was glamorous ? !
He was recently described by GMTV's Lorraine Kelly as being 'ridiculously handsome' ! In addition he was endorsed by First Minister Alex Salmond - no less - as THE 'housewives' choice' ...and we thought it was Alan Titchmarsh !
Norman is passionate about travel and is particularly fond of Australia and New Zealand. He's also known, on the odd occasion, to the apprectiate the merits of fine wine.
