"Before joining Kudos in 1998 Alan headed up the Financial Services Practice at a Legal firm, and began his career in banking with LLoyds TSB in 1987. He was part of the Management Buy Out team at Kudos in 2000 and has been a Director of the company since then. Designated as Employee Benefits Director he advises companies on their benefit packages across a wide range of client size and industries. More recently, led by Alan the firm has expanded into more Consultancy work and area such as Total Reward and Flexible Benefits. Under the current Board Kudos has grown from 11 to nearly 50 employees with offices in Aberdeen, Glasgow and London. Alan served three years on the Chamber of Commerce Board in Aberdeen but gave this up in 2007 due to work commitments.

Alan actually played football (once) and Badminton for Scotland when he was a teenager, but the sporting career never took off! He lives in Westhill with his wife and three children who "keep him occupied", and would find it difficult to relocate away from Aberdeen as he says that nobody south of Stonehaven understands him. His great loves in life are his family, Aberdeen Football Club, and trying to keep his golf handicap out of double figures."
